November 19-20: Silver Gloves/Dan Vassar Memorial Tournament

CONGRATULATIONS to White Center PAL Boxing for bringing home the 2nd place team trophy for the Dan Vassar Memorial Tournament! Everyone had a great time at the Silver Gloves and Dan Vassar Memorial Tournaments in Spokane, WA! Coach Tony and Coach Keith are very proud of the boxers who participated and the way they graciously accepted victory and also the way they accepted defeats with dignity. We are proud of this great group of young men!

Tyler Magat-winner of 11 to 12-year-old division; 80 lb weight class
Josiah Tulifua-winner of 13 to 14-year-old division; 106 lb weight class
Issac Cardona- winner of 15 to 16-year-old division; 106 lb weight class
Jorge Pena-winner of 13 to 14-year-old division; 160 lb weight class
Jose Luis Pena-3rd place Senior Division; 160 lb weight class
Roman Rivas-winner of 15 to 16-year-old division; 175 lb weight class
Misi Tuitoelau- winner in a super heavyweight class match bout.
Arturo Moreno-3rd runner up in the WA State Silver Gloves Tournament 14 to 15-year-old division; 132 lb weight class

And a special congratulations to Arturo Moreno! Arturo will advance to the Washington State Silver Gloves Regional Tournament in the 125 weight class to be held January 6-7 in Spokane, WA!

John Beebe ran his winning streak to 6-0 with a hard fought victory
Marcus Bryant won his bout stopping his opponent in the 2nd round
Matt Ginger lost a close decision in his debut
All three are firemen at the Joint Fort Lewis/McCord Fire Department who trained at the White Center PAL
Boxing Club especially for this event

Marcus Bryant was voted the outstanding boxer of the night for the Fireman

The event is an annual charity event held each year at the casino benefiting numerous children’s charities, including the White Center PAL Boxing Club.
