Greater King County Police Activities League (GKCPAL) is a youth crime prevention program that uses mentoring, educational, athletic and recreational activities to create trust and understanding between police officers and youth. It is based on the conviction that young people – if they are reached early enough – can develop strong positive attitudes towards police officers in their journey through life toward the goal of maturity and good citizenship. The PAL program brings at-risk youth under the positive, mentoring supervision of police officers and members of the community, and expands public awareness about the role of a police officer. It gives youth and the community a chance to interact with law enforcement outside of their traditional roles as police officers.
Our mission is to build partnerships among youth, police, and the community through athletic, educational, and recreational activities designed to encourage and develop good citizenship and reduce juvenile delinquency.
Our vision is a community where youth have the opportunities to be engaged in meaningful and educational activities that provide the guidance, life-perspective, and empowerment they need to make responsible choices and lead successful lives. It is a future where youth and law enforcement hold a mutual respect and understanding of one another, foster positive relationships and work together towards reduction in juvenile crime, substance abuse and gang involvement in our community.

A Message from PAL Staff:
GKCPAL is proud to partner with law enforcement in our community. GKCPAL programs reflect our genuine effort to build respect between cops, kids, and our community. We provide the opportunities for civilians, cops, and kids to work and play together — building confidence through creating a caring, safe environment for youth to learn life skills and experience success and achievement. We also want to be accountable to the community for improved relationships between law enforcement and at risk youth. We have an unwavering dedication to support our societal cornerstones: schools, law enforcement, and families.
We ask you to join us on this mission and share our vision. We invite you to take a look at our website to learn more about what we are doing, follow us on Twitter, “like” us on Facebook, or call and email us – we want to hear from you!!
